The Tompot Blenny is a medium sized blenny, which lives in rocky areas in shallow water mainly in northwest Europe.

All true blennies have a continuous dorsal fin with the first dorsal fins are spiny and the remainder are soft. The pectoral finds are relatively large. Distinguished by a pair of tentacles/lappets over the eye. Usually a deep brown-orange in colour. Rarely more than 15 cm in length.

Dogs Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Posted by Samantha on Dec 21st, 2008

This delightful companion dog is one of the larger of the toy breeds and looks very much the spaniel with his long silky coat complete with plenty of feathering that will require daily grooming.

Of all the many breeds of dog the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is probably one of the best for first tme dog owners.

Little Bittern

Impossible to spot among the reeds

The little bittern is much smaller than the common bittern, botarus stellaris, and does really look like a dwarf beside its cousin.

Its black, yellow and white plumage acts as camouflage, for in spite of there brightness, these colours blend in with the reed beds where it lives.
